Our memories are strongly linked to scent and can bring us back to a different time and place instantly upon smelling: a former lover, the house of your grandmother or the gym at your old school. Could we also evoke the past of a city by scent? Visual artist Sanne Vaassen designed a walk of scents through the history of the city of Maastricht. During this walk, visitors can discover parts of the city past by smelling herbs, flowers, and extracts. The special edition detailed guide is equipped with a map and bottles containing the scents and is all wrapped in a hand-made leather folder, made by the artist herself.
