In the spring of 2018 Marres will present the exhibition Dreaming Awake, a layered version of a tropical rainforest in the Amazon. It is an exhibition about the touch, with the emphasis on the touch of man through his environment. Clammy, moist, sticky, deafening and breathtaking, the jungle is the most invasive form in which a landscape imposes itself on us. If you are in it you can not escape. The pressure of the environment is so powerful and hypnotic that it brings visitors into a dream state.
