The beer is only available for pickup at the reception of Marres in Maastricht.

Beer lovers! To celebrate Marres’ 25th anniversary, an old beer tradition is being revived. The name Marres comes from the brewing family that lived in the house for three generations. In the 20th century, the well-known Marres ‘Dobbel-Aajt’ was brewed across the street on Capucijnenstraat. The family crest of the brewing family served as inspiration for the current Marres logo.

Together with Brewery De Fontein, Marres set out to find refreshing flavors for 2025. During a beer tasting, you—the audience—chose a bold blonde beer, enriched with subtle notes of elderflower and lemon.

Brewery De Fontein is a craft brewery that focuses on flavor and its surroundings. Working in harmony with the seasons, the brewery operates entirely within and from nature. Fruit from its own high-stem orchards, herbs, and fruits from the kitchen garden form the foundation of its beers. Sustainability and circularity play a key role, with a strong emphasis on local sourcing and circular principles.
